Over the last decade, modern start-up in fintech have been contributing to the financial sector both in Indonesia and the Netherlands. However, the businesses still face many challenges in the development for example the unequal spatial distribution in Indonesia (i.e. mobile network) while it is quite equal in the Netherlands. This section will discuss the current state, challenges, and future improvement of this sector. It also discusses the market segment in which a start-up can enter. Moreover, good practices from the Netherlands and Indonesia will be discussed, based on the local context on how to improve mutual benefits between Indonesia and the Netherlands in the start-up industry.
