Unlocking Sustainability: a transformational journey for organisations

Join this webinar and learn what are the keys to success in your sustainability strategy. Our webinar entitled The sustainability journey of organisations: game-changing regulations, challenges and opportunities on 27 February, 10:00am CET

Organisations face increasing challenges due to climate change, unprecedented disruptions in global supply chains and pressures on their people and processes. It’s now a critical time for organisations undergoing deep transformations to integrate sustainability into their new models, unlock new opportunities, and help mitigate future disruptions while complying with regulations. How can organisations ensure their own prosperity and that of the planet through investing in sustainability initiatives?

Achieving net zero
While some changes in our climate are unavoidable, the consensus is that they can still be limited by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by nearly half by 2030, and ultimately by achieving net zero no later than 2050.

Organisations, of all sizes and maturity levels, face several challenges in achieving net zero, from understanding and planning to measuring, target setting, and implementation. The ISO Net Zero Guidelines provide a practical, end-to-end framework for organisations at any level of maturity on their net zero journey. They clarify a potentially confusing and fragmented governance landscape and offer a common reference point for what “good looks like” when taking credible net zero action.

Transitioning to a circular economy
In Europe alone, material use results in more than 2.5 billion tonnes of waste produced every year for disposal. Our current waste model is understood to be unsustainable, not only for the planet but also for our economy.

A circular economy helps reduce our reliance on limited raw materials and reduces the amount of waste we produce by reusing resources, addressing material use and waste, and turning waste into inputs for further production. It can also boost economic growth through job creation, protect human health and biodiversity, and reduce GHG emissions.

While transitioning to a circular model, organisations can sometimes face challenges associated with “greenwashing”. With as many as 42% of ‘green claims’ found to be exaggerated, it is important that organisations build consumer trust in their circular model and accurately and confidently communicate the quality of their products.

Prioritizing people
Sustainability means more than achieving a low-carbon future, it must include people, an organisation’s most important asset. A comprehensive strategy to put people first can help increase overall environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance, drive business outcomes and improve people’s lives.

Prioritizing people means ensuring a broad and integrated approach to worker’s health, safety and well-being that not only protects physical and psychological health but enhances it. It means embracing diversity, equality, and inclusion to encourage innovation. It also means building ethical supply chains to foster greater collaboration and improve social value.

Best practice frameworks and standards
A sustainable future requires collaboration, knowledge, expertise, future thinking, and pragmatic solutions. Best practice frameworks play a pivotal role in guiding organisations towards responsible environmental and social practices. They provide a structured roadmap, offering clear guidelines and methodologies for achieving sustainability goals and helping organisations streamline their efforts, track their progress and ensure regulatory compliance.

The upcoming webinar with BSI, titled "The sustainability journey of organisations: game-changing regulations, challenges and opportunities" on 27 February, at 10:00 am CET will delve into these critical topics. The agenda includes an exploration of the latest sustainability trends and key regulations that will deeply impact the landscape. By discussing the importance of embedding sustainability into business strategies and the journey to achieving net zero emissions, the webinar promises to provide valuable insights and guidance for organisations committed to sustainable growth.
